Disable "view in browser" feature
Try disabling the "View In Browser" or "Web Browser Integration" feature in your Adobe viewer. This will force your viewer to display PDFs outside your browser, in a separate window.
For Adobe 6.0 and 7.0, go to <Edit>, and then <Preferences>. Select <Internet>. Remove the 'check mark' next to the "Display PDF in Browser" option, press <Ok> and close the window. Go back to your browser and try viewing the PDF again. A smaller window with options should appear - select <Open It>, press <Ok> and the PDF should open in a new window.
