Panama City Beach … The Perfect Breakfast Spot for Your Next Vacation

So recently, I took a quick little vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida with my daughter and my dad. We´re no stranger to Panama City Beach or all the great things there are to do there, but we stepped out of the box, tried some new things and I want to recommend to you a wonderful Breakfast café and bakery spot.

We had breakfast at Andy´s Flour Power Café and Bakery.   Amazing!! John Certo is the owner and from the moment we arrived,

John was:

  • Out front greeting guest
  • Visiting everyone at their tables
  • While we waited for a table he made small talk with us, assuring us he would have us a table in no time. “I think we waited 10 minutes.”
  • Refilling drinks
  • Answering questions about the menu and the bakery case

John is the kind of owner you want to see, really caring and appreciating his patrons. I knew we were in for some good food, just from John´s attitude.

Perfect, Golden French Toast…

I ordered the Flour Power French Toast, thick country French bread dipped in cinnamon and brown sugar batter, grilled till golden perfection and topped with toasted nuts, fresh strawberries and powdered sugar, it looked and tasted Amazing!  My daughter opted for a more safe approach to breakfast, a bowl of cheese grits and an egg over easy center cooked.  The grits were great, the cheese was melted throughout, not stringy or chunks of cheese, but you got the hint of a really good creamy cheese. My daughter enjoyed them and shared a bite with my dad and me.  My dad chose the rolled omelet with spinach, tomato and feta cheese, Andy/John scored again with his omelet. It was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of ingredients not over powering one another.

The register at Andy´s Flour Power and Café and Bakery is located next to the bakery case, (you´re a smart man John) I noticed a green muffin.  Under further inspection, I realized/read it was pistachio! OMG!!!! I wasn´t leaving without one; it would make a perfect afternoon snack on the beach.  Plus it was large enough we all 3 shared it, and the taste was heavenly!

For a family that usually grabs a cereal bar or rice Krispy treat for breakfast we will definitely be going back to Andy´s Flour Power and Café and Bakery on our next visit! You should give it a try and just a FYI for our next visit and yours, John invites you to bring your favorite bottle of Champagne and he provides the OJ for a mimosa.

Yum-O!!!
